Joel Nickel

Joel Nickel is a retired Lutheran pastor living in Salem, Oregon. He has always sought to bring together the visual and the verbal, image and text, graphics and speech, art and the spiritual in his work, a merger of intuition,
imagination and logic. His artistic work continues full time.

Art works
produced by Joel Nickel over the past 50 years fall into three primary categories: painting & graphic work, jewelry–metals & enamel work, and small scale sculpture.

Some of the work is connected to his pastoral vocation and the worship life of the Christian Church; some of the work is connected to his interest in aesthetics and can be classified as “Abstract Geometric”; some of the work is craft oriented using wood and metal.

The goal of the web site is to represent work in each category, whether in the present inventory or owned by collectors.

Items in the present inventory may be available for purchase. Contact the artist as indicated below.
